OCtech seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our dynamic accounting office team. This pivotal role manages and supervises our accounting staff and ensures the integrity of our financial systems and compliance with various regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision: Provide direct supervision and leadership to the accounting office employees, covering areas such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Federal and State Grants, and General Ledger entries.
Financial Compliance: Ensure adherence to state, federal, and college requirements concerning the recording of financial transactions. Implement best practices for internal controls and routine reviews to maintain accurate financial information.
Staff Development: Plan and execute training programs for staff, including cross-training to ensure continuity in all essential accounting functions.
Financial Operations: Oversee the college's billing processes, reconciliation of fixed assets, and the preparation of financial statements for various internal and external stakeholders.
Reporting: Manage the reporting of financial information to the System office and ensure compliance with grant guidelines. Prepare monthly financial reports for the area commission and assist in the coordination of annual external audits.A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field and professional experience directly related, such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending.
Proven experience in financial management and staff supervision, preferably in an educational or public sector environment.
Strong understanding of accounting software and database management.
